Ciel et Bois was the perfect venue for our small, outdoor cottage wedding. Our guests enjoyed staying the weekend in the cabin, and it came equipped with everything we needed for a bachelor and wedding weekend. The staff was fantastic to work with, the space was incredible, and overall we were so pleased with the experience. We had access to two event rooms, one where we setup the tables for the reception and one for dancing and refreshments. The outdoor arch was fantastic for photography, and there were plenty of amazing shots we were able to capture throughout the day. Thank you so much for making our dream come true!

We booked Ciel et Bois for a work retreat and we will 100% be back! The space is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. It came up at least 2-3 times each day in our conversations, how much we appreciated the care and intention that went into every aspect. Outside is beautiful, scenic, and peaceful, yet you're not isolated and a quick drive from anything you might need. Inside the main building has been thoughtfully prepared for every kind of event: boardgames, yoga mats, cosy blankets, music, books, and more. We had a beautiful evening enjoying the fire pit and the sauna, and the weather was perfect for having meals outside. What was most incredible was the support provided by the Boreal River team - when we inquired about disability accommodations, they immediately took action to make sure that everyone would be able to join us safely and in comfort, installing a ramp and bathroom supports. We were greeted on arrival with an incredible spread of fruits, cheeses, and treats. At every moment we felt welcomed in the best possible way. I cannot recommend this space enough!

The house and surroundings are amazing! So peaceful, the amount of space for our large group was more than enough. Easy to get to and the fire place and sauna are a plus! Entered the home and to our surprise there were little gifts for us. Great home and amazing sights.

Wonderful space to gather with friends. We had beautiful weather and spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the firepit, or sauna and outdoor shower or playing yard games. Lots of cozy spaces to hang out or playing a game. Letha and Danny also recommended a local chef for a private dinner and also a decorator. We had an unforgettable dinner in a beautiful setting. We will be back again!

We had a great time at Ciel et Bois. The location is private and scenic with a lot of nice amenities on the grounds. The hosts were very communicative and the place was spotless with a lot of tasteful decor.

A large group of my friends and I stayed throughout the weekend at Ciel et Bois and had a wonderful experience. The drive there was short (only 20-30 minutes from most locations in Ottawa), and the space itself is so beautiful. We all felt very comfortable there and took advantage of all the rooms (especially the spacious kitchen which had everything you can think of)! A friend hosted a yoga session one morning in the studio space, and we spent a great deal of time in the sauna. This was a great pause from city life, and a beautiful staycation.

I spent a weekend at Ciel et Bois for a wellness getaway with friends, and it was such a sweet winter escape from the day-to-day city living. The convenience of having it be 20-30 minutes of travel time made it easy to drop in and get comfortable. The lodge is gorgeous, spacious and well equipped. The property has so much to offer. We took advantage of the sauna, kitchen, and games. The additional workshop room was perfect for me to host a yoga class, we loved the heated floors, fireside feels and windows that connected us to nature even while we were inside. We also went cross country skiing, only 7 minutes away from the lodge. It was a specular weekend, and felt right at home at Ciel et Bois. I highly recommend and will book again.

This space is spectacular!!! Rustic wood, a dreamy colour palette, warmth and windows everywhere. It was impossible not to drop in to immediate relaxation upon arriving. In a large space like this you might expect that some areas might be chilly. Not the case! The space was warm. The basement has these amazing mattresses set up like couches with an abundance of pillows so watching a movie is magical. The amenities room is so versatile. We used it for yoga and had the wood stove burning and well as the heated floor running. We spent time journaling in many cozy nooks through out the space. I can't say enough about the coffee corner. I just loved all the details that were added to create a truly welcoming space from start to end. AND come on, what a name! Ciel et Bois

Thank you to the entire Ciel et Bois team for helping to facilitate a memorable experience for our 16U Girls’ Volleyball team. From the moment of booking, we were continually supported by Danny and Hayley and felt right at home. The attention to detail was remarkable - this team has thought of everything to help make your retreat memorable and fun! The cookies and muffins on arrival were very much appreciated by our hungry travellers! Hayley even helped to coordinate a grocery delivery and made sure the extra beds were made up and left all the lights on for us as we were arriving a little later. We could rest easy knowing that our hosts were responsive and would do whatever they could to help make our stay the best! We won’t hesitate to recommend and hope that we can one day return to this magical place! Thank you!

We had our work retreat, and it exceeded our expectations. The place was clean and cozy, and I really appreciated the attention to detail and the decor. The beautiful outdoor space allowed us to enjoy our numerous discussions. Thanks for provided such a great and enjoyable space.

We had the best time ! I was hosting a girl only training camp and the girls absolutely loved the place. We had movie nights in the basement and yoga/conference sessions in the big room which was lovely.

The host thought of everything and added little extras such as pastries, fruits and coffee ! They were also extra flexible with check-in and check-out giving us plenty of time.

Overall, the house was very clean and super well decorated. Will definitely be back for our next edition !

We had such a wonderful time at Ciel er Bois. It truly is a special place where great memories are made. We will definitely be back! And we only have the best things to say about Danny and Letha and their amazing communication! Thank you for everything.

What a beautiful spot!! Such a well thought out space, great decor, tons of amenities! Very relaxing and cozy space, I wish I was staying for longer! Took a Wilderness First Responder course with Boreal River there. Absolutely fantastic! Dynamic staff, excellent at delivering the content, cool location for scenarios. Absolutely recomend to stay here or learn here!

Had such a great weekend at ciel de bois. The house was absolutely stunning. It had such a bright and peaceful vibe. We even saw deer on the property! The hosts were great as well. Stunning spot - inside and out. I did a WFR course with Boreal at Ciel et Bois in March. Calming, spacious, clean retreat centre with kind and helpful hosts. I plan to come back!

Was here for the 4 day Wilderness First Responder course and it was a fantastic location! really beautiful property and such nice accommodations. Will be back for sure!

Nous avons passé une très bonne fin de semaine chez Letha et Danny qui sont plein de petites attentions. Le logement était fonctionnel et bien adapté pour un groupe de 16 adultes, très propre et confortable.
Letha et Danny ont également été très accessibles et arrangeants, nous avons envie d'y retourner pour profiter davantage du chalet et du jardin !

This place was amazing! I took my team here for the tournament and we couldn’t believe how beautiful and well they kept the place was. Everything was prepared above and beyond our expectation. There was even a welcome package with a handwritten note plus fruits and milk waiting for us. We will definitely be back again!

Attended a course at this location. Very cozy and hospitable house. Amazing amenities. Did not stay overnight, but all the others that did enjoyed their stay.

Gorgeous location, the space is beautiful, clean and well set up to host groups. The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook big feasts. I took Boreal River Rescue's wilderness first responder course here and loved it. There are lots of deer that pass through and ski trails nearby!

Participated in wilderness first responder course at this location and it is fantastic. I am a very light sleeper and can be sensitive with sleeping conditions. I had excellent sleeps here as it's a very quiet location and my room was nice and dark. The mattress was very comfy for me and i loved it. Overall, it's a beautiful spot with lots of rooms for groups, lots of rec space, a beautiful kitchen and lots of deer comfortably roaming the property. highly recommend

Wow wow wow! This place is gorgeous! The hosts have thoughtfully designed the space inside and outside. Our family of five including three older teenagers, loved our stay. The kitchen has everything you need, the downstairs area has lots of cozy space to hang out. We would come back and stay in a heartbeat. If this space is available for your dates, book it!!

If I could give them 6 stars I would.Perfect stay! They were super friendly hosts with great recommendations and the place was out of this world. Anything you could possibly need in a gorgeous location. We can’t wait to stay again!
